Mid Week Munchies

I am a firm believer in moderation with my diet especially when it involves cookies!! I could be mistaken for the cookie monster at times but hey, I love me a sweet treat! :)

I found the BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe EVER and I'm so excited to share it with you all!! I found it on the handy Allrecipes.com. It is for sure my go to site when I need new recipes and inspiration. So, check out this cookie recipe!! Upload your photos here or on facebook when you make them!
**A quick tip, don't over bake! I always somewhat under bake mine and let them set on the cookie sheet a minute or two before moving to a wire rack. Don't forget the milk, I love Unsweetened Almond Milk!! Yum!

Recipe here! Lots of exclamation points in this post, cookies make me excited!

They're Real!

Yep, you guessed it, those lashes are the real deal baby and you too can have them too!
I have recently fallen in love with the newly released Mascara by Benefit Cosmetics called They're Real. I do not receive compensation or any sort of recognition for recommending products on my blog, I only write about things and products I love, and boy do I love this mascara!!

The brush on this wand is a flexible plastic that allows each and every lash to glide through with each stroke while allowing full coverage and zero clumps! On the end of the wand is a spiky rounded tip to get all those little lashes in the corners of our eyes that never seem to show up.

They're Real Mascara has buildable coverage and adds a sheen to those eye feathers! Try it, you will love it, and let me hear your feed back! <3's

All that glitters

I love having a newly painted nail and experimenting with patterns but, as soon as I move, there goes a huge smudge in my polish... But, fear no more, I've solved my problem with a "Do it Yourself Nail Decor Kit" by Nail Fraud. These little packages provide that much needed punch to your daily nail routine in no time flat with zero dry time!!

These pull and stick nail polishes are easy to apply and file right off to the shape of your nail! I found mine at Ulta. I needed some shine in my life this week so I applied the Gold Glitter ones. Check them out, I swear everyone will ask where you got them done ;-)

Lentil Soup, Mmm Mmm Good!

After traveling and road tripping recently, I felt like I needed a huge bowl of vitamins!
So, I made this delicious Lentil Soup. If you have never had Lentils before, this might be a nice way to introduce yourself to them. Lentils can be compared to beans and are in the legume family. They are rich with soluble and insoluble fiber. Typically they are flavorless but will absorb any flavors you pair with them. Usually when I make soups, I toss in just about anything I have in the fridge and lots of spices!! Here is how I made this yummy soup!

Amy's Lentil Soup
2 Tbs. Olive Oil
1 15oz can of diced tomatoes or fresh tomatos
1 large onion chopped
1 tsp. Mrs. Dash Onion and Garlic Seasoning
1 tsp. Cumin (add more to taste preference)
1tsp. Chili Powder (add more to taste preference)
3 Celery Stalks Chopped to bite size
3 Med. Carrots Chopped to bite size
3 Full Leaves of Kale Chopped (remove ribs before chopping)
1 32oz Box of Broth (I used Chicken or Vegetable Broth)
1 Cup of Lentils
Fresh Herbs (I used Oregano and Sage that we had grown)
Pepper and Salt(sparingly) to taste
Hot Sauce for a kick!

Step. 1- Add Olive Oil to a large stock pot on Med-High heat and add Onion, Diced Tomatoes, and Spices. Cook until you start to smell the spices about 5 mins.
Step. 2-Add in Celery, Carrots, and Kale. Cook stirring about 3 minutes.
Step. 3-Add Broth and Lentils to pot.
Bring pot to a boil on Med-High heat then reduce heat to Med-Low, cover and cook for appox. 45 minutes stirring occasionally until Lentils are tender.
Step. 4- Stir in any fresh herbs you like or hot sauce just before serving.

This meal is very low calorie and packed full of vitamins. Make sure you drink lots of water with this meal to help aid in digestion. :)

Grilled Cheeses pair mighty well with this soup too! :)

Naked Canvas?

Eyes feeling naked these days? Need to freshen up your make up? Not to worry, Urban Decay has got you covered with (drum roll please) The Naked Palette. A little on the pricey side for me even but, I swear you will love this palette and want to use it every day! It will be worth every penny!
The shadows have great pigments and an array of colors to fit every skin color. I always travel with this palette because its cute velvety box makes it easy to switch from a day to night look in a jiffy! In my photo, I'm wearing: Naked as a base, Buck and DarkHorse in the crease with a little Half Baked on top, and Virgin as a highlight on the lid close to the lash line and as an eyebrow highlighter. Blending well and wa-la!

Happy Urban Shopping!

Sugar makes everything nice :)

I have to first credit my sister for this sweet idea as she is opening a company called Pure Nostalgic selling homemade soaps and scrubs, but today I made my own simple version of a homemade sugar scrub. I'm traveling up north this weekend for a lake side vacation and taking these babies with me!

Recipe for Sugar Scrub
Mason Jar or other container of your choice
1 cup Raw Cane Sugar
1/2 cup Olive Oil
1 packet of dried Lavendar flowers (add as much as you like)
**There are so many alteration you can do to make this scrub including different oil like coconut oil or almond oil, you can add fragrance as well as other types of flowers. The options are endless! Mix up and enjoy glowing skin :)

Pleated Dress

Another one of my favorite things to do is shop in a parallel universe. I love to find a popular style (usually a designer piece) and find a wallet friendly look alike! I'm really into 70's inspired fashions right now like this beautiful Chiffon Pleated Dress.

This flirty Pale Pink Chiffon Accordion Pleated Dress by Wyatt can be found on BlueFly here!

A penny-pinching way to mimic this classic style is at Forever 21! I just so happen to find this similar garment in the store this past weekend for a perfect price of $22.80!

Happy Penny-Pinching shopping!
